On tap:
A darker brown with a beige head and spotty lacing. Nose has some dark bread notes, but there is also a strong spice note that leaks into astringent that throws things off. I don’t think it’s the glass, as it’s more present when I swirl to bring out the aromas.
The taste also has a little spice, but it’s more root-like earthy and much lighter. Dark roast coffee atop a pumpernickel bread, with earth and spice in the finish. Nice carbonation lightens a beer that probably wouldn’t quite get to a medium heft.
