Murky, mahogany brown body; very little head, mostly a thin ring around the inner circumference of the glass. Nice nose; well-balanced elements of maple syrup and whiskey; figs; tobacco. Sweet taste, nearly medicinal-like with the high ABV, bourbon barrel and maple elements; anise and peppermint; boozy. Heavy body; smooth and slippery; heavy residual sugar presence; alcohol heat.
This beer brings some diversity to the senses yet still seems rather one-dimensional all the same. It's boozy and sweet, rather heavy-handed, and while complex, it lacks depth. Still, if you're a fan of big, boozy, barrel aged beers, this may suit you quite well.
