A fabulous, really low ABV, session ale. Made for humid summer evenings. Packs loads of aroma & flavour into its 3.8% and even delivers a full & rounded mouthfeel. Gooseberry, grapefruit, lychee, mango. A juicy, American-style pale ale from SE London.

the full flavor and low abv on this make it a really awesome drinker. its also easily as much american as it is english, with a fresh and bitter hop profile alike, some malt flavor but also a real dry finish, and a yeast i can taste but not one that really asserts itself much, seems like instead of being an english american hybrid by taking elements of one type of pale and blending them with elements from another, they just sort of compromised each aspect of the beer, or rather, included both sides of the same coin with each ingredient, and i think thats pretty cool. it seems like a lot of the more new school pale ales in england right now are borrowing some american elements, at least in terms of ingredients, but few hit the mark like this one, straddles the line so gracefully if you will. maybe a little grain heavy, but the light abv is cool, and even though the hops arent crazy flavorful, they have a nice punch in the finish and are quite obviously real fresh. the united states needs more beer like this, balanced and flavorful, but at a truly sessionable abv. session beer here has become like anything under 6% abv, but there is a real joy to truly drinking beer all day and staying on track, and its beers like this that make that possible. enjoyable drink here, my first from these guys.

Refreshing without using too many hops. And flavorful without using too much malt (@ 3.8 ABV.)
Interesting that I've noticed several SE England micros are using American hops.
My first from Gipsy Hill, so I went on their website. It seems they have the ambition of revolutionizing sustainable brewing... which can only help. Hints at soliciting some mob-investing. Also all good (didn't BrewDog go that route successfully?) Anyhow, I wish Gipsy well and hope they make everyone happy.

Hazy golden blonde; cantaloupe, tangerine, + mint; Carr’s crackers, Orangina with speck of herb + mango sorbet; soft yet fuzzy.

3.8% plays like 4.2. Nu skool citrus. Only the the prickly carbonation slows you down. On point.
