With only 45 check-ins on UnTappd, I have to think this is Waidmanns' first release. And it is a pretty good effort. It follows this classic seasonal with a malty attack and a long, semi-dry finish. Waidmanns could Look more lively and Smell more malty, but Gipsy Hill can work on that next year.
Bought at the bottle shop under the Deptford train station (Hop, Burns & Black), this is my second from Gipsy Hill. The first was an APA five years ago in which I noted that it was ambitious for this three year old (Gipsy) to think they would revolutionize carbon-neutral brewing. I am glad to report five years later that their ambition is still ambitious; but also much closer. They calculated their kegs and believe it to be carbon-negative. My copy of Waidmann's came in a can and Gipsy claims that their processes allow their canning to emit much lower carbon than the competition. All of which is good and all of which will probably help solve the carbon emissions habit. Gipsy calls it Regenerative Brewing and "From Farm To Glass", both worthy slogans in the competition to zero-emissions. Cheers ! (And High Overall Hugs.)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
