I receive a crowler from @woemad in the NBS BIF. The crowler was dated 3/10/2020 so it was a little under 3 weeks old when reviewed. Reviewed blind so I removed it from the fridge about 45 minutes before opening. Poured into a tulip glass. It pours an ink black with a generous, creamy, light mocha head and soapy lacing. A fine looking Stout pour. On the nose there is roasted malt, chocolate, tobacco smoke, earthy char, and burnt nuts. The taste is intriguing. It opens with a dose of roasty chocolate and mint followed by earthy char and burnt nuts. There is a hint of hop bitterness at the finish. It's medium-bodied and the carbonation has held up well in the crowler. It drinks easily for its 7.8% ABV. Overall, this is really tasty! As the glass warms the mint is accentuated and the chocolate is more discernible. It reminds me of Kane Brewing Co.'s Chocolate Peppermint Port Omna. A very fine Stout!
