Thanks to Woemad for this one. 16oz can (16oz crowler. Dated 8/7/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a solid black color with about 1-1/2 inches of light brown head that had moderate retention and no lacing.
The aroma was dominated by roast. In an interesting twist, there were a couple layers of roast; one was nicely roasted grains, the other a sharply burnt coffee.
On the tongue though, there was a sharp sourness, at first. After a few sips, that sourness faded into tartness, but remained throughout the can. A bit of grain managed to show through, and I didn't get any appreciable hop presence.
The body was light-medium, smooth, and had a medium finish.
Drinkability was seriously damaged by the sour/tart aspect. It was a chore, but i choked down the whole thing.
Overall, maybe a bad batch? This style should hold well for a few months, so there had to be a fundamental flaw. Cannot recommend.

16oz can filled on demand at the brewery on May 15, 2020.
Poured into a snifer, this was a very dark brown, almost black. Moderate sized head, somewhere between off-white and beige in color. Streaky and spotty lace.
The nose was predominantly of roasty, dark malts. There was also a scent not unlike molasses, but it was definitely subordinate to the roastiness, which resembled coffee.
The taste, up front, resembled the nose, in that it was a roasty, coffeeish flavor. Midway through the taste there was a sweetness in the background that resembled molasses, along with some faint, briny notes. Modestly dry at the swallow, with a fairly clean finish.
Medium Bodied, with a clean, lager-like finish.
Reasonably certain this was brewed with a lager yeast. It's a nice example of the style. Some brewers just make a massively alcoholic porter and call it a Baltic Porter, but WP's version seems brewed with an eye to tradition. Would definitely hit this again.
