16oz tallboy can filled on demand yesterday afternoon at the Whistle Punk tap room. It's a collaboration imperial NE IPA brewed with For The Love Of God Brewing Company. Here's the deets:
"Collaboration Imperial IPA brewed with our friends at For The Love Of God Brewing. This beer is hopped heavily with Citra Incognito, el Dorado, and Sabro. Tropical, with notes of stone fruit, coconut and pineapple."
Poured into a Whistle Punk mug, this was a solid orange-yellow color, with a decent sized off-white head. Said head dropped after a couple minutes but left some decent lace.
Stone fruit and tropical fruit aromas as expected and advertised. While I do detect some coconutty notes as mentioned in the description, there's also a bit of a hint of a vanilla-like sweetness that lends it an almost orange creamsicle-like scent.
Flavor pretty much matches the aroma. The subtle similarity to an orange creamsicle is present in the taste as well as in the nose. The only area that differs from the nose is a very slight citric acid-type bitterness at the swallow. No hint of the relatively high abv in the taste.
Medium bodied, with a mouthful that is soft and creamy.
Not something I'd want to drink all night, but a glass of this at a sitting is very nice, indeed. Recommended to all hazeophiles.
