not sure how many breweries you can walk into and have a heady saison and a cask english bitter at the same session, really diverse in their brewing these guys are, and i was stoked to see this on their menu! highly authentic. the color is reddish, high shine, gorgeous clarity, and creamy cask headed, looks awesome. the aroma is european hops with some spice, sweeter toasted and kilned type malts, bready and a little bit rich for its low alcohol content, somewhat more robust than a lot of these are, but still fully traditional to me. the cask conditioning stands out as impressive even beyond the rest of the beer, its so soft, textured just right, and it flatters the flavors. some bitterness through the back half, a nutty aspect to the malt, light oxidation in a good way, and a timeless ale yeast. i get a pretty interesting mineral profile as it warms, even the water chemistry seems intentional. these guys can do it all, this is further evidence of that. super smooth and drinkable cask beer here, excellent execution!
