All That Glitters from Whistle Punk Brewing. 16 oz can received in BIF #15, from @Woemad (05/04/22). Stored at reefer at 40 degrees after processing. Reviewed 15/04/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 47.3 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 55.2 degrees.
Appearance – 3.75
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), hazy.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 6.5 cm, aggressive center pour), white, medium density, rapidly diminishing, leaving a 1.1 to 2.2 cm meringue-like cap.
Lacing – Fair. Initially, as the head recedes and the level drops, irregular pieces of foam remain hanging on the glass at random locations. However, a wide, three-dimensional band of tiny to small bubbles forms below the scattered pieces to form true lacing.
Aroma – 4 – Begins with a light, fresh tropical fruitiness. No yeast, no malt.
Flavor – 4 – Flavor follows nose. There is a moderately dry finish with just a touch of dankness to offset the juiciness. No ethanol (6.9 % ABV according to what is printed on the label) taste or aroma up front. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Medium, watery, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container.) Flavor and aroma are fruity but weak – the strongest aspect is the carbonation. Still, the carbonation accentuates the weak flavors making this a highly drinkable brew.
