16 oz can into a stemmed tulip glass.

Pours a lightly hazy golden straw color with a large, sudsy white head. Very good retention. Leaves some splotchy lacing around the glass.

Strong, grainy aroma with plenty of yeast and clove. Rustic and grassy. Light citrus.

The flavor brings lots of fruity notes, namely pear, green apple, and lemon. Exceptionally grassy, and aggressively hopped, giving this beer a bitter balance to the fruit flavors. Clove esters are present. Cracked pepper on the finish.

Feel is medium bodied with pretty good carbonation. Moderately crisp finish. Could use a bit more carb.

Overall a pretty good saison. Drinkable and clean. Hits a lot of the notes expected of the style.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden color. A large frothy white head retains well.

The aroma opens with lightly rustic and earthy tones. Fruity notes of melon, pear, lime and orange along with aromas of cracker malt. Spicy aromas evoke peppercorn and grass.

The palate is very dry with a crisp cracker and bready malt base. The hops bitterness immediately stands out, firm and with flavors of grass and lemon. The fruity esters capture some of the components of the aroma, however, the peppery spices come through even more in the taste.

Light to medium bodied and mostly crisp. The finish is very dry with a lingering bitterness. The carbonation is lively.

Not the most complex Saison out there, but it’s true to style. Very easy to drink and with the type of dryness I like in my Saisons. If I was a saisonnier working the Belgian fields in the warm months, this would be the type of beer I’d like to be drinking.

Had a glass at Pony Bar HK. It's herbal and spicy but too clean and isn't as lively as a great farmhouse ale. It reminds me of a lot of other American Belgians that lack the complexity of those from across the Atlantic.
