Picked this up at Interboro late last year, finally getting around to it on this mild night at the beginning of astronomical summer. Loved the can design the the fact that two of my favorite breweries in this area collaborated on this and thankfully, the end result was a beer worthy of both of their monikers.
Lovely pour to this as the liquid, was golden, bright, and radiant with a moderately sufficient head to top it off. Surprisingly, not a lot of lacing was left on the side of my pint glass as I worked my way through this. Lots of Belgian yeast, fruity esthers, grain, and spicy bead on the nose as the taste had all of these in the mix as well. Lots of bready malt, bright citrus juice, sour grass, and lemon on the palate along with floral spice, minty herbal notes, and a moderate and muted tangerine slickness to tie everything in together. Impressed with how understated but solid the feel of this was as it felt Belgian without being overly strong or yeasty as the feeling of lively bread was enough to carry the day here...
There were plenty of hints that this had enough booze in it but in the end, it was the sensual notes that carried the day. Dated 12/13 on the bottom of the can with "BELGIUM COMES TO INTERBORO" written above it, this was such a winner as it featured the best of borh breweries in an immensely likeable brew. Enjoyed this from start to finish, down to the last drop...

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving a patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sour mash and yeast are present in the nose.
T: The beer is slightly sour and has some hints of grainy malts and lemons.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has an unusual bit of sourness for a saison. It’s not as yeasty compared to other beers in the style.
Serving type: bottle
Note: 2017 vintage
