Our homies, Run The Jewels, were looking for a tasty stout to drink in the cold months. This light bodied, deep chocolate brown brew, with roasty toasty aromas and slight hoppy tang & mild roasty bitterness fit the bill. Smooth and creamy, brewed with English pale malt, brown and roast barley plus lots of unmalted oats for a rich mouth feel. Hopped with Chinook and Columbus. Fermented with English yeast. This is one of three brews for RTJ this winter.

Disappointed with this all-star collaboration between Interboro, Pipeworks and the hip hop band Run the Jewels. You don't need so many stars to make a very average stout...

Picked this up back in Februrary, finally getting around to it tonight. So many players involved with this but the end result was a Stout that was average at best. Sure, it was enjoyable and went down easily but it felt too thin and burnt to be truly enjoyable, as this gave me the impression of a roasted Porter more than anything else...

Of course, the pour to this was dark, as it resembled a beer of this style in hue. A chocolate head topped this off but it quickly and quietly settled down as the big bubbles burst rapidly. Hardly any lacing was left behind as the thin liquid made itself apparent. Lots of roasted malt and toasted notes in the nose with very little dark fruit underneath that. The English hops and a bit of blood orange juiciness came through in the taste but it wasn't enough to make up for this beer's shortcomings. Thin, somewhat dry, and overly roasted in nature, this felt like coffee that was fermented with a bit of booze in it, without any creaminess to offset that.

Thankfully, there wasn't terribly strong as I was able to have another brew once I finished this off. One of the weaker (in many ways) offerings that I've had from Interboro, this was worth a go once just to realize how lucky I've been to have more of their better offerings. This was dated 2/21 with "@RUNTHEJEWELS" on top of that as I was glad that I only had one can of it on hand...

Smells of smoked malts, burnt grains, coffee grinds, brown sugar, molasses, light piney hops and char or ashy notes. Mellow but with all the right roasty notes for a stout. Taste follows suit and also brings burnt toast, roasted coffee beans, peppery floral notes and a dry chalky feel along with the same lineup as above (smoked malts, burnt grains, coffee grinds, brown sugar, molasses, light piney hops and char or ashy notes). Really tasty, well balanced and easy to drink. A tad bit thin, but the mild carbonation helps this go down easy.
