A: The beer is essentially black in color and only has faint traces of dark brown near the very bottom of the glass. It poured with a quarter finger high light tan head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark malts and lavender are present in the nose.
T: The taste starts off rather fruity and once it begins to warm up there are hints of dark malts, licorice, and whiskey.
M: It feels full-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be very complex as it seemed to exhibit properties of a Belgian Strong Dark Ale and a Russian Imperial Stout in addition to an English Barleywine.
Serving type: on-tap
