I wrote Bow & Arrow off after a few poor experiences with their beer, but had to give them a final "last" try due to my love of farmhouse ales and reading about this one, a Farmhouse IPA. As my rating reflects, giving them another chance paid off.
Pours a hazy yellowish golden with a nice frothy head and good lacing left on the side of the glass. Aroma is definitely wheaty with some banana and clove esters, pepper, a touch juicy and fruity from the mosaic hops, and a touch of muskiness from the oak chips. Flavor follows suit. A creamy, medium bodied mouthfeel with some activity. Finishes dry. Overall, while I will more need solid offerings from Bow & Arrow before I can start claiming to be fan of them as a whole, this beer here is great. Very reminiscent of Prairie's Standard, which is one of my very favorite beers.
