Farmhouse ale aged in red wine barrels for several months with a wild yeast known as "Brett"; this complex farmhouse ale has notes of citrus, earthy funk & white oak barrel.

Purchased in Sante Fe during a recent visit. Beautifully eye catching bottle.
Poured from said bottle into a tulip glass. Cloudy yellow with a thin but persistent white head and good lacing. Nice funky smell. Great taste with peach, lemon, herbal notes and maybe a bit of honey. Pleasant beer, glad I found it!

another really ambitious recipe from these guys, but with somewhat less than flawless execution. its a brett saison aged in red wine barrels, but to me the brett aspect is really young and underdeveloped, still really tasty beer, but i was expecting a little drier, a little funkier, and a little more complex on the yeast side of things. really clear for what it is, bright in the glass. its still as belgian as their original saison too, which feels just a little out of place with the farmy aspect trying to push through and with the barrels. i like what the wine adds though, a light but interesting and distinct fruitiness, currant and plum notes even, and weirdly enough some white wine character too that i really wasnt expecting, pear and apricot with that. the oak is more mild than the wine, but seems to beef this up a little bit. i think aside from the carbonation, the only missing element here is time, letting the brett come out over time and dry this out and funk it up would really make it awesome. hopefully they held a few barrels back, because this one is ripe with potential!

Been a very interesting ride with this beer. A beer that when first introduced was fair but flawed, has matured into a really great offering. The maturity of the brett really shining. Probably not worth describing since its continually evolving, but heck, i'll go for it. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is funky, fruity, red wine barrel influence. Flavor follows suits. A developing dry finish, medium bodied. Overall, this has become a great beer. Drinkable fresh, but best enjoyed aged. Not usually how I prefer my beers, but have enjoyed the ride this beer has taken me on.
