Nitrogen infused for smooth, cascading foam. this stout blends roasted malts with cold-brewed coffee for bold flavour. Like your morning coffee...but make it beer....roasty, smooth, and perfect for fireside chats or late night hangs

A- Beautiful Guinness like foam head.....caramel colored head that is dense, nitrogen infused and shows the expected retention from this style. The brew itself is dark brown, almost black, opaque and does not show any inkling of carbonation rising, however, I do expect that there is a fine rising of bubbly goodness. The lacing is impressive, with a thick and at times thin film covering the inside of my stout glass. Overall it looks like a standard nitro infused stout from Ireland, but this is what I know and love.
S- Standard coffee aromas initially, but this one is more intense, like an espresso. Fresh dark chocolate, mocha, burnt chocolate and/or black malts, heavy roasted toffee, caramel and blackstrap molasses make up the bulk of the smell here, with grainy, charred grass in the background. The finish is dark, burnt/charred and of muted hop bitterness, but more like a dry grainy/grassy roasted malt, instead of a hop bitterness.
T- The flavours here are pretty standard for a stout, with black coffee, dark chocolate, cooked dry cocoa, mocha, and dry charred malt all present. This reminds me of a beer I had long ago now but not available at present, Beamish......dry, of burnt toffee/brown sugar/molasess, and the finish being subtle yet bold at the same time....very dry, very dark and of astringent black coffee. A very nicely flavoured traditional style Stout!
M/O- This has a nice medium-full mouthfeel, very subtle carbonation, and a drinkability factor that is long and enjoyable. I would definitely pair this with a beef or mutton stew, or on its own during a cold snowy day. This reminds me of a traditional dry stout that compares well with any of the Irish varieties. If this wasn't a limited release, I'd enjoy this more than once during a season, but as it is, my dear wife purchased the last available can and I am finalizing my review here on it! Cheers!
