This is a dark lager by what Valcour says.
On tap at their brewery.
The appearance was a nice looking semi-dark amber to brown color with a fairly nice looking small cap of a little white head. That head quickly dissipated and barely left any lace.
The aroma seemed to take the lager yeast and move it forward enough to stifle some of the malts; somewhat roasty, nutty with a sweet earthy to herbal contour about them.
The flavor was moderately sweet taking the lager yeast once again to mesh with the roasty and nutty sweet malts. Mild aftertaste of the nutty crisp malts with the noticeable lager yeast.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt as projected. Semi-smooth lager yeasty sort of finish.
Overall, as a Euro Dark Lager, I'd say it works. Also, one nice feature about this beer that I seemed to have liked more than a fair amount of other Euro Dark lagers is the "cleanliness" of the roastiness. It wasn't "distracting" or "numbing" to my tastebuds.
