A pumpkin ale in February? Actually, I have a feeling this may have been brewed last Autumn and they had some older kegs in the back that they realized they wanted to sell because pints went for $4.50 on February 22, 2018.
Anyways, on with my thoughts about this beer.
It pours a lovely looking dark amber to brown color with a subtle transparency along the sides and almost looking a bit transparent. Not much of a head, but what there was seemed to fall off fairly quick. Not much lace.
The aroma had a superb blend of sweet pumpkin fleshy malts and nuttiness that blended a nice secondary allspice to nutmeg to cinnamon sort of spiciness sliding in for a spectacular experience. Aftertaste was a fine meshing of the allspice, nutmeg, and pumpkin sweet malts.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par.
Overall, very nice pumpkin ale well worthy of coming back to.
