A: Pours a clear brassy copper/orange color. A two finger white head forms and recedes in a minute. Good lace is left behind.
S: I get a lot of soapy pine like hops in the nose. Resin like and bitter. Maybe a touch of phenol's but not much else of note.
T: Like the nose soapy piney hops and resin. Some bitterness lingers, more of a pepper spice which is probably the tomatillos. A touch of phenol's, but really is just a mess as nothing comes together very well IMO.
M/O: A medium to full body. Moderate carbonation, though not crisp at all. That slick, oily, and soapy character carries over. OK to drink once, but not something I am going to come back to.
A poor example of a Saison. Some muddled soapy hop character, maybe some spice, and bland phenol's. I guess some of that has to do with the tomatillo added, but it is hard to say. Not what I am looking for in a Saison at all, but OK to drink one if you need a tick.
