Description/Tasting Notes This gold medal winning Blonde Ale is expertly crafted for drinkabilty. Slightly sweet but very clean malt flavours give way to a balanced and slightly fruity bitterness resulting in a crisp finish. A very sessionable beer to be paired with your any of your favourite foods.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL, from my favourite LCBO at The Roundhouse Centre in nearby Windsor. My third beer from the Windsor, Ontario brewery, and first for 2025.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 2 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a crystal clear golden blonde colour, generating one finger of soapy, frothy white head that holds together for three minutes or so. A sudsy collar of generous proportion lives on, surrounding a thin, filmy cap - looks good, with a swath of arcing lace also left behind. The nose is unspectacular but inoffensive - mostly grainy, with suggestions of grass, cereal and orchard fruitiness.
It's a very straightforward beer, but its flavours are clean and approachable - a little grainy, with wheat bread and cereal sweetness punctuated by hints of apple skin and grassy, somewhat dirty hop bitterness. The aftertaste lingers a bit, with wheat and earthiness clinging to the taste buds after each sip. Light in body with moderate carbonation that feels prickly on the tongue, resulting in a smooth, rather thin mouthfeel; sessionable, but not much more than that.
Final Grade: 3.46, a B-. Frank's Bombshell is a standard issue American blonde: quite boring to be honest, but competently brewed and thus not really worth fussing over, or analyzing this deeply - worth trying if you enjoy beer at its simplest. It might have broad cross-appeal with macro beer lovers, and I think any bloke simply wanting a beer to wash down some grub would be OK with this. I'll drink it again at some point, but the truth is blonde ales are not a go-to style for me, and even when I am in the mood for one, there are others I'd be considering long before Bombshell.
