Nice smooth dark red stout. Quite clear with a small beige head. Moderate cherry and minimal chocolate flavors.
I happened to be in Silverton in October and enjoyed this stout enough to bring home a growler for our private tasting sessions, but a session hasn't happened so I just opened one. What struck me first (aside from the gorgeous deep red color) was the very slight metallic taste and immediately realized how they named it. Usually metal taste, being astringent, is unpleasant but here it seems to fit in well with the name.
Upon further testing it seems that the metallic is simply an interesting interpretation of the cherry/mild chocolate flavors. I wish the carbonation were a bit stronger as that would accentuate the cherry/chocolate but it's nonetheless quite drinkable.
