Described as a New England IPA
Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a hazy orange color with a small fizzy white head. The head fades very fast to leave wisps of lace on the surface of the brew.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a citrus tangerine smell with plenty of other tropical fruit smells of pineapple and mango. Along with these smells comes a hint of a bready smell as well as some other light fruit smells of peach and pear.
Taste – The taste begins as the nose would have suggested with a somewhat bready/doughty taste that has a great deal of tangerine citrus upfront. From the start there is also flavors of pineapple and mango, and while light initially, these grow more and more intense as the taste moves on. All the while, the breadiness losses a tiny bit of ground. Some other hop flavors of pine and grass develop as the taste advances with some light yeasty tastes also becoming more pronounced. In the end, with some light lemon flavors developing and mixing with the nice blend of tangerine, light fruits, and bready tastes, one is left with a rather robust fruity taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is a bit on the thicker side with a carbonation level that is rather on the lower side. For the thicker breadiness of the brew mixed with the rich tropical fruit tastes and yeast, the feel is quite nice and creates and enjoyable mouth coating feel.
Overall – Another rather tasty IPA by Map Brewing. This New England style IPA is rich in flavor with a strong showing of citrusy hop and fruity flavors. Quite tasty.
