Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a clear medium amber color with a one finger head of pure white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is massive of a roasted malt smell mixed with some other smells of caramel and a touch of toffee. Along with these smells comes a little bit of a toast and a touch of herb.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather roasty and toasty malt that has notes of a light toffee and molasses sweetness. The sweetness is light with the taste mainly dominated by the malt flavors of the brew. As the taste advances the roast seems to get even stronger all while some light earthy and herbal tastes meet the tongue. These flavors take the taste to the end to leave one with a raosty and malty, but drier taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the darker flavors of the brew mixed with a light sweet and malt the feel is pretty decent and makes of a nice sipper overall.
Overall – A decent more roasty and malty, but not too sweet brew. Overall a rather decent Oktoberfest.
