16oz glass at Beer Revolution. Once again, glad to see this Peace Country brewery's offerings make it down here.

This beer appears a clear, dark apricot amber colour, with one skinny finger of wispy and filmy beige head, which leaves a bit of decaying ice shelf lace around the glass as things quickly subside.

It smells of biscuity and bready caramel malt, some mild red apple and Bosc pear fruitiness, ethereal smoke, and a tame leafy, weedy, and floral green hoppiness. The taste is semi-sweet bready and doughy caramel malt, a lesser biscuity cracker thing, apple, orange, and lemon fleshy fruit notes, a wee chalky flintiness, and more plain earthy, leafy, and gently perfumed floral hop bitterness.

The carbonation is quite understated in its limpid frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and mostly smooth, just a touch of fruity acerbity taking a minor tithe here. It finishes off-dry, the caramel malt plodding along, while the general fruity character bleeds out.

Overall, this starts off well enough, the biscuity malt showing promise, before quickly ceding the floor to an almost unwelcome fruitiness. Not bad, but not really something that I could see wanting to make a night of with at the ol' local watering hole.
