my first beer from these guys, and what a first impression it is, wow! its a sour belgian red, aged in red and white wine barrels, and on strawberries and rhubarb, awfully ambitious for a brewery i never heard of, and they nailed it! it takes some work to get the cork out of the bottle, super tight in there, but once i do the beer comes to life. its deep pink in the glass with an airy little head on it. the nose is more red than white wine to me, with an obvious sourness, bacterial and a little aggressive, some nice fruitiness in here along with the jammy strawberry, tart red currants, cherry candy, even red grape, its mouthwatering and interesting, some tartness from the rhubarb coming up a little but easily overwhelmed by the bacterial sourness. the flavor is great, super complex with lots of strawberry and a ton of oak. the white wine comes out more here, faint peach and minerals to it, very sour but also really clean. way more strawberry than rhubarb but both are there and its very natural and real tasting to me, absolutely delicious overall. a cool mix of ingredients and methods here, and overall a killer introduction to thirsty street, ill have to get in here and check it out next time i make it to billings. i thought this was awesome!
