this is cool stuff, a brett fermented ipa, done with citra and cascade, and fully bottle conditioned, these guys are flying way far under the radar for having beer this cool, and the thing that really does it for me, is how affordable this is, nine bucks or something for wine bottle, brilliant! the beer is pretty good, a little raw, but im okay with that in this style space, its not over hopped and its not sloppy on the brett, even if its not crazy mature or anything. it has to be a brux type, or a brux heavy blend of brett strains, i get that medicinal iodine thing to the nose of this and that exceedingly dry horsey character in the taste, i like this type of brett, but i know not everyone does. i think its cool with the hops, citra and cascade both doing their thing, spicy and piney in the taste, especially on the finish and at temperature, more soft in the nose with the citra, lemongrass and lemon curd, really nice back and forth, and its got some bitterness too so it does still hit like an ipa in that regard, very few of these really do, so nice boldness there on the boil hops. this is pretty cloudy from the bottle, super bubbly and frothy headed, looks belgian all the way, not gross or sedimented, but could stand a little tidying i reckon, i love the texture though. delicious juiciness to the hops is nice with the brett, which is increasingly funky as this sits, no acidity here at all which i dig, and bone dry to close. clever beer, good value, fun yeast flavors, well hopped. these guys are cooler than they are getting credit for being...
