hands down the least impressive beer they had on tap here, but thats really not so bad for a new operation, its not a bad beer at all, just a bit amateurish and unrefined, which is never too flattering in an ipa type. for starters, its pretty cloudy, copper colored or a little lighter, but with a lot of chill haze under the white head. it smells like quite a lot of hops were added, and they see quit fresh and well dosed, and honestly, its not the recipe thats off i dont reckon, but the execution, which is just a little sloppy. flavor of the hops is fine, and although its maybe a little overly malty for me, thats just my taste. this really just needs some cleaning up, drying out, and attention to detail. bitterness is there, and a nice citrus rind flavor lingers from the hops. again not bad, just more of a homebrew than a professional level beer. its also the only one i really got this impression from, the rest of them were much more carefully built and crafted. halfpenny is a cool spot, worth poking in for a beer or three if you are in the area...
