this was for sure their best beer in here, well, this and the octoberfest, both of which were excellent. silky shiny black in color with a nice creamy light tan head and a lot of body. its pretty in the pint glass, and laces up beautifully after each successive swig. aroma suggests a very dry stout, i hardly get any sweet malt from the smell, just the dry roasted barley, bitter and coffee forward, although there is no coffee in this beer. the flavor is neat too, layered between coffee notes and bitter nearly burnt barley, and the starchy semisweet oat complexion, which not only makes this velvet soft and smooth going down, but also adds some cool grain flavor onto the rich dark base. plenty of body here, creamy feeling, not filling or anything, but substantial and hearty and even wintery feeling as they go. a very solid stout, probably the most polished beer on the list while we were here. i had a blast here and would suggest ignoring the strip mall setting and swinging in for a couple of these tasty stouts!

Pours jet black with a light brown head. The nose is sweet, very chocolate forward. This is a medium bodied stout that balances roasted flavors with bitter chocolate. A subtitle tang from the CO2 cuts through the roast. Overall this is a nice stout.
