Black color. Medium-sized. tanned head. The aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coconut, and vanilla. Well-balanced taste, a sweet start is compensated by roasted bitterness.

I bought this gimmick beer thinking; oooh, this will be tasty. Alas, I have passed it up several times to review it, rethinking whether it will be yummy. Pouring it into a tulip glass at around 50 degrees. The pour created a creamy one-fingered light tan head with sub-optimal retention. The dissipation left no lacing on the glass. Charting the color somewhere around SRM 32 is dark brown, nearly black. The appearance is below average.
Nosing the glass, I smell dark chocolate and coconuts with caramel, bready, molasses, and raisins. It has this sweetness that is not like raisins or molasses; but more like sugar syrup. Smelling the liquid a few more times, I get an earthy note.
The taste does not match the aromas. I taste dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, doughy bread, molasses, coconuts, raisins, and some earthiness.
The mouthfeel is thin and warm. The body medium-plus has a medium-low carbonation and a quick finish.
It is not the worst donut beer I have ever consumed, yet not great. The mouthfeel is thin. The aromas led me to believe this would be yummy, but it was a budget imperial stout. The beer is okay.

Imperial stout with donuts and toasted coconut.
A: Milky froth dark walnut head is two inches and firm with some large craters atop. Solid olive black coloring, a micro bead carbonation moves at a good pace. Head retention was good, as well a full sheet coating of milky foam lace left behind on the glass walls that smothered it in its entirety.
S: Dried milk roast aroma, toasted coconut and toasted caramel grains. Some almonds and vanilla add sweetness and complexity as well a deep rich helping of chocolate. A bit of dried icing and some sweet cocoa manages to sneak in as well. A bit of walnuts and cashews finish out with a soft nuttiness that is almost dominated by the big dark coffee malting.
T: Milky dark roast and chewy, almost like liquid donuts in a glass. Rich, bitter and earthy silt campfire ash lies on the tongue with a burnt flair. Burnt grains, dry coconut. Earthy and bitter.
M: Mouthful was creamy soft and full. Liquid donut malting, softly carbonated with a earthy soot ash on the tongue.
O: A huge bitter and roasty drink. Bitter chocolate, coffee, and a huge donut malting that is slurry like is perhaps the strong standout here. Silty campfire minerality.
