from UnTappd--
A mouth-wateringly juicy, hazy pale ale. Packed with passionfruit, peaches and pineapple. Crafted with surplus bread, malted barley and hops.

UnTappd styles Grassroots as a Pale--Other; and that is probably the best catchall. While Grassroots does not have the aromatic hops of a NEIPA, the bottom pour is messy/hazy enough to qualify. While the tropical fruit is only mildly aromatic and marginally more fruity in the Taste, NEIPA is still my best guess. but change it if you think better.
I don't know how much of Grassroots is composed of reused bread and how much newly brewed barley. But the Feel is different enough for me to guess a 50-50 split... for this batch which probably has a good deal of wheat.
This is my third from Toast and my earlier micro-reviews stand: they are trying to do something new (to compete with full-barley styles.) Their reasons are sound: we must all reuse if we are to reduce our carbon footprint. Balancing that ambition with what the palate is used to is Toast's challenge.
4/30/25 Six months later, I'm still the only reviewer. So why was I worried about the styling? Anyhow, I detect improvement in Grassroots. Toast is figuring it out and deserves my generous Overall Hugs.
