A hop-forward session IPA with punchy citrus notes. Bold, yet subtly floral and uplifting. Crafted with surplus bread, malted barley, oats and modern American hops.

There are qualities of New Down that made think I should style this as an English IPA. New Dawn is softer in the mouth than most AIPAs I've had. Its hops are less stringent and bitter, having only 30 IBU; which I guess to be in the lower quartile of AIPAs. But, the brewer used American hops so I had to go with AIPA... with objection.
New Dawn Looks spectacular. On tap, it has a very active foam that builds very slowly and then leaves a generous lace. But the sun a hour from sunset hitting this tall glass steals the show. Brilliant. Smells are mostly malt and grapefruit. Tastes are balanced, almost even for a malt-head like me. Medium-mouthed and soft, probably from the varieties of bread.
As for the very good Overall Hugs I give Toast, I've explained that in the five other brews I've had from them. Good guys deserve hugs. Cheers !
