Beautiful looks of Hawaiian fruit punch---smell is otherworldly, fruity, citrusy and a unique smell I'm guessing is hibiscus.....Great mouthfeel with the dominant flavor of lime, overpowering some of the other flavors, but still delicious....

Drank on tap at Draught Industries, Beacon, NY
Served in a coeviuse
Gorgeous, hazy magenta appearance. This looked a lot like ruby red grapefruit juice. The nearly opaque liquid was topped by a small, frothy white cap that quickly dropped to a thin collar. No lacing whatsoever.
The aroma was outstanding. Super fruity and bright. Very tropical-fruit forward. Big guava notes. Some sweet lychee as well. Passionfruit was also noticeable. Bit of orange. Hawaiian Punch definitely came to mind. There was a subtle floral quality as well, but I probably would not guess hibiscus specifically.
The flavor profile was also terrific but definitely more crisp and tart than the nose. Sweetened ruby red grapefruit juice initially came to mind. Strong tropical fruit presence as well. Lychee was noticeable. Some passionfruit too. Loads of lime, lemon and wheaty tartness in the center. Big lactic-like sourness. The lime notes intensified on the back end and in the finish. Lime zest lingered after swallow.
Creamy, soft and smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. The liquid contained a moderate effervescence that fluffed up nicely on the palate.
Though Fauna uses the same raw wheat, malted oat and milk sugar formula as the other sour IPAs in Hudson Valley Brewing’s lineup, this beer definitely came across as less milky and sweet and more crisp, sour and bright. An excellent offering for sure but perhaps not one of my favorite of their beers.
