Hudson Valley Brewery is awesome but mostly for people who like sour beers.
The vibe is solid yet unremarkable. A small taproom and outdoor area. The surrounding town of Beacon is quite nice.
Their sour IPAs are unique and delicious, although 80% sour, 20% IPA. The moniker of "sour IPA" feels a tad contrived.
Good service and knowledgeable staff. They make wine in addition to beer, which reminds me of Tired Hands.
Definitely worth a visit if you like outside-the-box sours.

Very cool place in a quiet little Hudson river valley town...was there on a Monday afternoon in early June, so fairly quiet but pleasant. Very friendly and cool bartender who was quite knowledgeable about the beer. Really enjoyed the beer a lot.

Beacon NY... quite a happening town. Very active streets and HVB is no exception to the foot traffic. They brew some excellent beer... especially their sours, which have earned the hype. Service can be a bit slow at times given the traffic and staffing. And the selection typically is not more than 10 beers, most of them being their sour IPAs. Definitely a spot to hit up if you happen to be in the area.

stopped in here while driving up the Hudson Valley, to pick up some cans of beer. the taproom is modern, clean space, with a bar with seating, surrounding tables, and then a cooler for take out cans. I picked up packs of their Dark Mild, and one of the fruited Sour IPAs. Pretty good beers.

We visited the new tasting room 5 weeks after it opened. It's located in the industrial building which houses the brewery. The large tasting room is light and airy with a euro feel. There is also abundant outdoor seating including a functioning bar. The vibe is energetic with beer nerds and locals. I noticed many out-of-state plates in the parking lot. The staff is efficient and friendly. The beer is excellent although somewhat limited in style. There were numerous Kettle Sour options available when we visited and the one I tried was very good, as was the DIPA. There are lots of food options within walking distance.

A great place to sample some of HVBC's beers. I always prefer to be onsite at a working brewery as opposed to a fancy tap room that could be anywhere. There are two nice outdoor areas in addition to the indoor space. Unfortunately, on a sweltering, still afternoon there was no relief to be had as there is no AC inside.
Oh well, have another pour!

Next to the train tracks, downtown. A new, warehouse building, with half of the room for production and barrels. Just a little counter to order from. Parking lot patio for good weather sipping. No real ambience to speak of but it matters not.

We spent a late afternoon and evening in Beacon (traveled to NY for a football game at Army). Picked the wrong time to arrive as they had a beer release/pickup. Otherwise, we had a great time with nice seating both indoors and outdoors. Not a big sour/farmhouse ales, but when done right, I really enjoy them. Hudson does them right in my book. Not too sour to lose the beer flavor. Service was friendly and there was a good truck, but we didn't try the food. Will be back!

It's not for everyone and that's absolutely understandable, but if you are into it, it's wonderful.

Excellent beer and very good selection. Very crowded on Saturday afternoon I was there and not a lot of seating. Well worth a visit.

Amazing place located in Beacon NY. Highly recommend a trip up. Great vibe with outdoor and indoor space and ample parking. Wish they had more cans or bottles available as their beer is fantastic.

Was traveling to Stewart International Airport nearby, so stopped by on the recommendation of a friend. I was not disappointed. Note, 2 Churchill St is the address, although the GPS may take you elsewhere. Ample parking. Big box, industrial style building with casks stacked to the ceiling on one side, equipment on the other, but a large, busy service area (standing room for a dozen at the bar), 8 - 10 picnic style tables inside and a comparable number outside.
The crowd was very enthusiastic and seemed very knowledgeable: a lot of repeat customers. The sour saisons and sour IPAs, however, were out of this world: approachable, fruity, and fun. The women in my party were particularly impressed by the balance of fruit and tartness.
The service area is busy, but reasonably well staffed. There were 8 offerings at the bar, a Pilsner and the rest sour IPAs and saisons. 16 oz cans (this was a distribution day and one of the two was already sold out), prepackaged 32 oz growlers, and some waxed bottle offerings available. The best place for sours I have visited in New York State. Certainly worth a trip.

Taproom and large barrel room adjoin each other to make quite an impressive image. Big selection of fruited sours and sour IPAs at the counter in the taproom, all of which are good, but could use a little diversion into some more traditional less sweet selections. Nice spacious outdoor patio with good seating and string lights.

Nice brewery in a gentrified town that seems just as cool as Brooklyn, but way north of the city lines. I love the fact that you can grab a teku on line while waiting for your crowler to be filled up. The line was full of energy with lots of trades and beer swapping taking place, make for a great vibe and experience. If you can visit then I recommend that you do.

Great joint. Amazing beer. Often they have food trucks/vendors but it's near a lot of good restaurants in Beacon. Service was okay but its always jam packed so I understand. If you go, I recommend also checking out DIA: Beacon, the museum in town.
