Poured into IPA glass from can.

Very opague light yellow color, short white head, nice lacing. There's noticable sediment settling at the bottom of the glass. Smells like meyer lemon and honey. This beer is VERY tart- this is definitely a sour IPA that leans sour. Then the tart turns to sweet, then it's got a distinct lingering salinity from the fancy salt. It's fantastic, but it's the kind of distinct and powerful flavor profile that sips slow and would lend itself to a smaller pour- maybe this is the kind of thing where you split a tallboy with a friend. Great beer, though, huge fan.

From a can. Hazy orangy-gold and highly effervescent with a short lived puff of foam. Smells of guava and tart tropical fruit juice. Tastes similar to the way it smells only more tart. Leaves a taste like smarties candy on the finish. Medium bodied and smooth.

No canning date. Can to wine glass.

L: Pours a slightly opaque golden orange with a white head that dissipated quickly and leaves some tiny spots of lacing. No floaters.

S: Tart and fruity with notes of apricot, lemon and green apple. Grassy and hoppy.

T: Fruity, hoppy and tart. Lemon is dominating the taste in a rather sweet, almost candied way. Green apple is also there.

F: Crisp and creamy at the same time. Rather low carbonation.

O: Classic Hudson valley brew. Fresh and fruity with subtle hoppy notes and the typical creamy mouthfeel. Quite straight forward and not overly complex, but still a very good beer.

A 16 fl. oz. can with no clear canned on or best before date. Poured into a winebar glass.

Appearance: A hazy orange colour with a one finger white head that had pretty good retention while leaving some lacing.

Aroma: Tart, lemon, yellow stone fruit, unripe mango, sour apricot candy, and lemon zest.

Taste: Sour, tart, lemonade, lemon zest, yellow stone fruit, with a touch of salt.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.

Overall: Really easy and enjoyable to drink with good aroma and flavours.

Poured from a can into a teku glass about half way.

Appearance: Pale amber, clover honey. Loose cluster of carbonation. The foam disappeared within seconds leaving freckles on the surface of the beer.

Smell: lemon, something spicy almost like jalapeño. A mint lemonade.

Taste: follows the nose. Refreshing, a hint of salinity, tart with rounding beautifully after a long finish into a rich malty breadiness.

Mouthfeel: Lactose grants a bit of body but still crisp and easy to drink.

Overall: not the revelation I’ve had with earlier HV beers. But man, is that nice.

On tap at Hudson Valley Brewery in Beacon, NY.

This one pours a fairly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like tangerine, lemon candy, Smarties, lactose, vanilla, and grassy hops.

This is a bit more straightforward than some of their relatively absurd sour milkshake-y style IPAs. I'm not sure exactly what the black lava salt does here, but there's a wonderful sweet and sour lemon candy type flavor, some lactose and vanilla like sweetness and creaminess, a reasonable acidity, and a nice citrusy hop character.

This is creamy, and citrusy, and pretty drinkable.

These things were all the rage like 4 years ago, and the luster has worn off at this point, but they're still pretty tasty.

Pours a very thick hazy, almost milky, orange color with a nice half inch white head that settles out pretty quickly. No lacing and can't recall a distinct smell either but that's not my forte.

Taste and mouthfeel are awesome. Taste is sweet, tangy and fruity. All I could think of was Jolly Rancher - one of the lemon ones. Mouthfeel was medium to thick.

Just a great beer. Haven't had too many Hudson Valleys but traded for a mixed variety pack and have several more to drink - The Map is a great beer and one I could drink a lot more of. Cheers!
