A: Pours a relatively clear almost opaque dark purplish red (think cranberry juice) in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate garnet red + dark ruby red colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy foamy slightly pinkish white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of tart cranberries and slightly tart/slightly sweet apples over the top of moderate aromas of slightly sour wheat malts with moderate amounts of brown sugar + lactose sweetness as well as light to moderate amounts of tart lemon citrus lacto. Light aromas of vanilla.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of slightly sour wheat malts with moderate amounts of brown sugar + lactose sweetness as well as light to moderate amounts of tart lemon citrus lacto. That is followed by light flavors of vanilla. Finally there is a moderate to strong flavor of tart cranberries and slightly tart/slightly sweet apples. No perceptible hop flavor and almost no perceptible bitterness. Light to moderate amounts of lingering tartness with some sweetness as well - mostly cranberry but with lighter amounts of apple.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Almost creamy with moderate amounts of acidic prickliness.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol with a refreshing mouthfeel. Enjoyable and the combination of cranberry + apple is quite successful in this beer, liked the balance of tartness and sweetness. Definitely a bit of a dessert profile but I easily could have another of these.

A: The beer is hazy red in color. It poured with a short white head that quickly died down and left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of cranberries are present in the nose along with notes of apples and brown sugar.
T: The taste has flavors of apples and brown sugar along with notes of cranberries and hints of vanilla.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and is slightly tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the combination of apples and cranberries. This is hardy sour at all and makes for a nice dessert beer.

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a murky golden red color, with a little bit of purple, along with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like candied and mostly sweet cranberry, with spiced apple aromas, sweet vanilla, brown sugar, lemon candy, and lactose.
This is the usual extreme weirdness from Hudson Valley. The cranberry definitely comes through a bit stronger than the apple, which kind of just comes across as a sweet spiciness. There's a sweet creamy flavor from the vanilla. Luckily the lactose doesn't come through too strongly, and is more of a textural thing. The brown sugar adds a sweetness that kind of buries any sourness that might have been there.
This is creamy, and lightly carbonated, with a good level of drinkability.
This is a bit more muddled than some of their sour IPAs, but it was still worth a try.
