It pours dark purple color with a 3 finger thick very foamy bright fuchsia/hot pink colored head that was packed with bubbles of all sizes, dissipating very slowly and leaving nice spotty foamy lacing. Smells of raspberry, blueberry, strawberry and all kinds of berries mixes with fruit juice, sweet malt, rum soaked grains, fain herbs, earthy tones, wet cardboard and some sour fruit. That lineup might sound odd unless you're a big fan of fruity, sour IPA's, so trust me it worked really well.
Tastes like a session IPA mixed with raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, blackberry and all kinds of berries, which helped completely hide the 10% ABV. There was zero alcohol present and the tart and sour aspects covered up and booze, short of the slight burn as it went down. Nice herbal notes, piney hops, fresh cut grass and flowers along with raspberry jam, honey, toffee, biscuit and fruit punch round out the flavor profile. This is what an extreme sour IPA should taste like. The HV website stated a "Sour Triple IPA w/ raw wheat, malted oat, local buckwheat honey, blackberry & raspberry puree; hopped w/ Mosaic." It was excellent overall, thanks to "beercanvas" for hooking me up with this.
