A: Dark plum/ruby; hazy clarity. Light lilac colored head.
S: Dark cherry limeade, Pom juice, dried citrus, wood spice, anise. Lost some of its pineapple pungency, and has retreated more toward the smoked earth/spice/berry sangria.
M: Med body, well-carbonated and some hard hitting tannins, semi dry-finish...still juicy.
T: Been sitting on this for a four mos. since release. More vinous, tannic, grape notes. Berry and cherry gushers, stone fruit sweetness. Fennel, spruce, and touch of lavender belie the fresh fruit character, which is mostly raspberry/strawberry...funny how the berry pie fruitiness of the pinot grapes has now overpowered the addition of actual blueberries. Pineapple surrounds everything, but doesn't envelop the other flavors. Bit of a potpourri with cranberry and orange peel, citric-Brazillian coffee.
Well-done and not overdone. Balance between the tannic astringency and sweetness is just right. Not puckering, and not cloying. A horse of a different color than some of the other sweeter kettle sours although the sugar is definitely here.

Poured from a can (no date I could find, released 22Apr2021) into a Teku
L: pours a gorgeous dark purple/ruby red, with a moderate lavender/light purple head that fades after a few seconds.
S: tart and inviting fruit-forward nose, with a bit of puréed fruit sweetness lurking in the background. All of the fruit adjuncts come through well - mix of juicy pineapple, sweet blueberries, red wine grapes
T: mixed feelings on the swallow here. Feel the Pinot noir grapes took over, almost giving me some mixed ferm/funk vibes from the flavor. Astringent rather than pleasantly tart at first. Toward the middle the grape fades and the blueberry comes through more. Trying to pick out the pineapple, get it toward the finish similar to the blueberries. Go back for another sip but more because I’m curious than because I like it
F: medium+ body, medium carbonation, moderately drying
O: swing and a moderate miss here vs. expectations. The nose is really nice and inviting, but the swallow flips it on its head. Grape character takes over in a negative way, other flavors play catch-up. Strange - in the end I enjoyed it
