Poured from a can into a teku glass. About half full.

Appearance: Straw colored and with medium opacity. A honeycomb of medium sized bubbles forming along the bottom of the glass. Large bubbles forming a quickly dissipated head leaving an archipelago of foam.

Smell: honeyed biscuit, light strawberry like a jam. As it warms a hint of coriander. Something inviting about this.

Taste: Bitterness quickly finding the way to the outside of the tongue. Yellowed summer grass, slightly mineral like wet stone. Bitterness lingering for about 30 seconds.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. A crisp finish in the back of the throat.

Overall: This doesn’t check any of the boxes that I was hoping for from a HV Pilsner. The zing of the Monteuka hops leaves the pallet unsatisfied as opposed to wanting more.

This sucks
First off too hazy
Smells alright but then has a strong barnyard hay end of nose
That barnyard flavor carries into the flavor with some lemony accents but it’s really not great I guess it’s unique?
This is too 5 worst beers I’ve reviewed on BA.

Poured from a can. Slightly hazy, pale yellow in the glass. Head fades to a thin rim of white with no lacing. Smell is floral with lemon and coriander. Thinner mouthfeel. Taste is base malt and mild floral bitterness. Crisp and finishes fairly clean with lingering bitterness. Overall, I enjoyed this. Liked it best early on; not as good as it warmed a bit. Easy drinking on a hot day.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light pale yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that left a large patch of bubbles on the surface, a collar around the edge and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of basil are present in the nose along with times of lime.
T: The taste follows the smell but has a bit stronger flavors of basil and other herbal hops.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that this pilsner did a good job at incorporating the Motueka hops as they didn't overpower the underlying beer and it still tasted like a pilsner (and not as intense as an IPL).
