Indicating Egger's website has no english button, Untappd lifted this from same site--
Das feinmundige Spezialbier: Ein mild gehopftes, helles Bier, leicht im Geschmack. Ein echtes Premiumbier. Nicht pasteurisiert.

My first from Egger, I went on their website. They claim to go back to the beginning of the Industrial Revolution (1862), but their site still doesn't have an English button. Even though they are only a regional brewery, Bern (where Egger brews) is the capital of a cosmopolitan country. (Maybe an English button is an investment in growing their distribution.)
But despite that parochial flaw, Maximus is a nice pilsner. Malty, balanced, but refreshing. It even offers a nice foam, although doesn't stick around. Smells are average, mostly malt. However, Tastes are well-balanced with some lingering hops in the finish to counter the sweet malt. Medium-mouthed.
I bought this copy at Drinks Of The World in Lucerne. I will have Maximus again. In fact, I will look for it right now as I go beer-hunting at the Drinks store in the Geneva train station.
