Got sick of a work party, so ducked over to Burning Beard (for a third straight year I believe). Untappd description called it a, “Russian Imperial Stout with chocolate, lactose, vanilla and cinnamon.”
Poured a pitch black color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky khaki-white head. Could not see any bubbles. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled chocolate milk, caramel, vanilla toffee, cinnamon, roasted barley and hints of toasted coconut. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. Got chocolate milk, vanilla, caramel, toffee, roasted barley, anise, cinnamon, black licorice, cacao and bitter black coffee. The 13 percent ABV was hidden. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Just a really good Russian Imperial Stout. Can’t wait to try this again. (Overall - 4.25)
