Drank from the tap at noon when I had a sandwich at a cafe in Vienna's Museum Quartier.
A decent German Pils. Sufficient foam on a clear blonde body, mostly malt in the nose, balanced. Just the right amount of hops to wash down a sandwich of somewhat dry rye bread. The hops lingered faintly long after the sandwich was gone. Lighter side of medium-mouthed.
Turns out that Schladming also is part of Brau Union, further confirming Heineken's Austrian oligopoly. But Schladming is small town midway between the population in Vienna and the mountains of Innsbruck. So how else does a brewer get distribution?
