Tears of Our Enemies Barrel Aged

This brewery made a barrel-aged version of their original Scottish beer, and it's pretty good, though I wasn't able to tell what kind of barrel they used. I didn't get a dominant flavor of anything other than the ale itself, which was quite good on its own, but obviously benefited from aging. Maybe a bit of vanilla in there, but not very obvious. It's also pretty low ABV for a barrel-aged beer, checking in at only 7%. I'll have to try the original beer as well to compare.
