16 oz can in a Proper logoed IPA glass at Proper’s brewpub in Salt Lake City.
Hazy amber orange pour. Nice dense froth left lace as it reduced.
Smell is hop up front, light earthy note, mixed fruit.
Taste is a balance of the fruit, hop and malt all together. The hop lingers late and the finish is pretty dry. 9% ABV makes it warm.
Feel is a bit heavy for the style, low to medium carbonation.
Overall, a servicible NEIPA, fresh, but nothing ‘special’.

Tall can from the source earlier this evening....”canned 6/11/21” stamped on the bottom.
Sniff of light tropicals, with minty ripe pineapple coming to mind.
Lightly to medium hazed, ample loose cap, leaving moderate levels of lace on the glass.
Tasty enough DNEIPA style brew....again minty on the palate, with some denser resiny hop qualities carrying the weight in the midsection. Enjoyable and well crafted. Worth a try and proved to be a worthy nightcapper

awesome label art. a beat of a beer but a likable one again from proper, who seems to be good at everything. an orange shade to this one, not real clear but perhaps not intentionally hazy either, lasting white head on it, more malty than some, but looks appealing and smells quite balanced, with a nice sweet honey note to counter the intense hops, as well as a lightly cooked or even toasted layer, there for just a second. the hops drip with pine sap to me, have a dankness about them, and seem real fresh in this, oily feeling on the palate in a good way, christmas tree notes, bitter citrus, even european grassiness in the mix, rather botanical. the body is mid range for the style but the flavors make this heavier than it feels, with rising bitterness late and all the hop oils lingering, i taste this one for awhile after its gone. maybe not the most unique take on the style, tons of hops through the whole thing, malty, bitter, they didnt invent anything here, but they executed it very well, kept the alcohol presence low, dressed it up in a cool can, and i for one really enjoyed drinking it. tip of the cap to my brother in law for procuring and saving this for us to share!

Great copper color with large head.
Aroma is a mild and balanced (not sure if herbal or spicy but def not citrus but good) hop with malt in the background.
Taste is much more strong than the aroma, a well rounded hop and toasty malt combo, fair amount of bitterness on the back end.
Really good

Under the slogan "Beer Done Proper", I suppose this one is ... if you are a hop-head.
But for malt-heads like me, Revenge could have less bitter and offer more of the sweetness of malt.
Admission: DIPAs are not a favorite of mine; but I tend to tolerate and drink most of those that let the malt in to play. Revenge's bitter is penetrating and cloying and pretty much locks out any sweet malt salivation from coming in twice.
My first from Proper, I went on their website and wish I had tried their Belgian offerings instead. But I will have to pass, given only two days in Utah. Proper seems to plug the standard buttons of serving its communities with high quality ingredients. (I noted no nod to sustainability.) They seem to have grown fast for being only five years old with two taprooms and restaurants. Good luck to them.
