Serving: 650 mL bomber bottle (fresh from the brewery), poured into a small nonic glass.
Appearance: Pours deep, very dark brown with slight reddish highlights. Builds a good frothy head of khaki foam that slowly recedes to a lasting frothy cap and paints streaks of lace.
Smell: Fresh pine and citrus zest up front with dark roasted coffee beans and toasted bread following.
Taste: Flavor opens with more malt, ranging from salted caramel to espresso and slightly burnt toast. Citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and pine follow through with a nicely herbal bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with a slightly oily, smooth feel and moderate carbonation.
Overall: Full flavored with IPA hops and dark malts so well integrated to remain very drinkable.
