Cloudy tan-pink (salmon) color. Poured a short head that dropped down to a patchy skiff in half a minute. Too cloudy to see the carbonation level. Left only a few small dots of lace.
Strong, almost spicy, fruit/berry scent. I assume this is supposed to be the cranberry, but it doesn't really taste like any cranberry I have tasted before. Sour citrus. Both fruit scents seem very sharp. There is a hint of yeast funk and horseblanket. The sharpness turns it into a bit of a chemical lab smell. Swirling the glass kicked up the sharp citrus and more barnyard.
Stronger citrus flavor with something chemical under it; something like a citrus dish soap. Strong sour. The other fruit/berry flavor shows up as it warms a bit, but there is an odd bitter much more like tannins than hops. The first couple of sips are a bit off-putting, but the flavors work better after this point. The aftertaste starts with the tannin bitters and the soapy citrus returns.
Mild bubbling. Never gets to a foam. Medium-light body. Quite astringent, especially in the aftertaste. Sour enough to also get a bit of pucker.
Interesting experiment, but this will take some tuning to get right. I think the cranberry needs to be cut way back. The wheat ale base doesn't even show up. Perhaps the cranberry would be more appropriate for a fruit saison or fruit lambic.
