Crowler from Westmere Beverage in Guilderland, NY.
This one pours a dark-ish golden brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like toasted malt, some vanilla, maybe, with a bit of chocolate.
This is a pleasant introduction to this formerly unknown to me brewery. It's a little bit thin, but with a very toasty and roasty character to it, with some light chocolate, and a definite bread-like flavor.
This is pretty creamy, but slightly thin, with a nice drinkability to it.
You don't often see a straight up, no frills brown ale anymore, and this is a pretty solid stab at the style.
