Poured from the can into a Libbey style pilsner glass. Packaged February 4th 2020.
Giant booming bright white head out of the can. Still manage to keep in control, but with that hoppy bent gives big staying power to a big bleach white, swiss cheese big bubbled tall mountain of head. Still does settle eventually, even with it's big clumpy and fine soapy lacing. The body color is a pale lemon, but also heavily hinting green here as well, with a green swamp like edge to it. Big aggressive but a little out of control beer here.
Aroma hits a bit of odd character, but not terribly. Sticky lager malt and hints of pasty yeast. Big sense of thick bread dough, but hankering to more wet than thick and fresh baked. Not much sensing hop character on this either surprisingly.
Palate makes some solid in roads though. Classic lager light body, but some of that malt thickness still gets through. Light touches of orange citrus, but very faint giving to more clean and bready lager flavors and density. Good clean finish, a little bit of hoppy fruit flavor, but also not much bitterness, and even a little bit of fruity faint sweetness.
This is not quite IPL territory, but not even regular American lager territory either. More like a straight down the middle, and a good pounder lager for something different for a change. I approve!
