Not made with Hackensack River water. This award winning Helles Lager is crisp and lightly hopped for a lemon-lime kick.
Beer-flavored beer that tastes like beer. A simple, clean and delicious pale yellow beer that is everything you like about "plain ol' beer". Bready and slightly doughy malts underpin a light herbal/floral happiness. Pairs well with bbq, pizza, and classic American bar food.

A: Pours a clear medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate bright yellow + pale yellow colored highlights. The beer has a four finger tall dense pillowy fluffy off-white head that slowly reduces to a medium to large sized two finger tall cap surrounded by a large patch of thick film and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + grainy malts with a very light amount of grainy sweetness. Light to moderate aromas of lager yeast. Light aromas of spicy/peppery + grassy + citrus/lemon zest hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + grainy malts with a very light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of lager yeast. Finally there are light flavors of spicy/peppery + grassy + citrus/lemon zest hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away fairly quickly leaving a relatively clean finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp with a hint of dryness and a clean finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a crisp + clean mouthfeel. Enjoyable and would pair well with lots of different foods. Pleasant complexity of hop flavors while not having the hops overwhelm the expected maltier lager flavor/aroma profile.

It's got the Helles look--clear, bright gold, one finger white head. Lemon. pepper and grain are the prominent flavors. Didn't expect German authenticity from Hackensack, NJ, but it was there. Nice knock-off of the style--totally legit. Enjoy and refresh.

Medium carbonation with about a medium body.
Aroma is lemongrass, lemons and peel, grain, earthy grainy bread.
Taste was very similar to aroma with there being some slight sweetness with an equal amount of very mild hop bitterness.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Would definitely pick this up again.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) can into a Captain Lawrence muffin top glass; canned Jan 23, 2020, code JUST BEER.
A: Pours a crystal clear, golden color with solid head formation, leading to a two finger, fluffy white head but modest retention or lacing.
S: Aromas of barley grain, straw, and cookie.
T: Semidry. The palate largely follows nose, although I would not have anticipated the peppery bitterness.
M: Light to medium bodied with persistent effervescence. Solid presence.
O: An interesting interpretation of Munich Helles Lager. Surprisingly peppery.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that left large rings of bubbles on the surface after it died down.
S: Light aromas of biscuit malts are present in the nose along with hints of lemons.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has lots of flavors of biscuit malts. There is a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and very clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't as flavorful compared to other Munich Helles Lagers, but it is definitely very easy to drink.
Serving type: can

A: clear golden amber color with a slightly off-white thin head
S: wet cardboard, straw, lemongrass, sweet grains, and a touch of sweet lemon
T: sweet grains, grass, lemongrass, straw and hay. A touch of pepper spice and earthy hops, but not bitter
M: light mouthfeel with medium carbonation
O: a decent Helles here. Not as crisp as some others, but the sweet grains are not overpowering. You could drink multiples of this easily

12 oz can. Pours golden with tall, white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grassy hops and biscuit malt. Body is medium and crisp. Bready malt and herbal hops are nicely balanced on the palate. Finish is long and bitter. Quite bitter for Helles.
