Crisp, clean and built for rapid consumption, Mile Wide keeps their beers anything but on idle.
Pouring pale gold and cast in a light hoppy haze, Idlewild greets the nose with dried citrus, tropical fruit and grassy herbs as soon as its frothy white cap settles. Mild sweetness graces the tongue with crisp suggestions of honeysuckle, granola and graham cracker before a hoppy punch of grapefruit, orange peel and dried pineapple begins to rise. Trending dry and bitter, the late taste is a crisp and herbal finish with hay, citrus peel, pine needle and dry hemp.
Medium bodied for session ale, the beer isn't quite session but isn't quite fuller or more standard flavored or textured. It's sensible beer if more than one is in the cards.
