Remixing yet another hoppy beat, the brewers at Mile Wide once again clean up the hazy pale ale taste with, this time, a Cashmere hop focus and a refreshing taste of citrus and melon that this unique hop variety provides.
Kicking off once again with a pale golden hue and that familiar tarnish haze, DJ Roomba, the Cashmere hop version, looks the part of New England pale ale underneath a blanket of cotton white froth. Fruity with citrus and orchard fruit the beer's bouquet is zest and botanical. Its crisp and sweet upstart is lightly biscuity with shortbread, light honey and toasted pastry crust.
The showcase for flavor, however, are the Cashmere hops that spring to life on the middle palate. Swiftly skirting over any malt influence, the taste of racy lime, pink grapefruit, honeydew and lemon bring an citrusy, hoppy brightness to the forefront. Herbal with the spice of green tea and verbena, a soft bitterness looms with a mellow peppery resinous grip in tow.
Medium bodied but chased into dryness by the peppery nature of hops, the beer continues to take on a hoppy green citrus flavor into a medium long finish of sassafras and fresh grassiness akin to botanical gins.
